Titleist TSR Driver Review

October 13th, 2022

We’re busy testing so that we can share an our Titleist TSR Driver Review. Our goal is to test with different swing types, swing paths and golfer skill levels. Ultimately, we aim to give you a sound review. The best way is to see for yourself by scheduling your own personalized club fitting. Schedule Your Own Driver Fitting   High Swing Speed Test – 110-120 mph club speed In our Titleist TSR Driver Review for our high swing speed tester, the TSR2 and TSR3 were compared to a Callaway Rogue ST Max LS. Using an Autoflex 505XX shaft, we found some interesting results with as we tested the TSR2 and TSR3. The TSR2 (set to 8.25 degrees [D1]) definitely showed that it can achieve higher launch with lower spin rates as promised. With spin rates within 5% of each other, the TSR2 launched almost 4 degrees higher than the Rogue ST Max LS (set to 8 degrees [-1/N]). The TSR2 also produced slightly more distance even with a steeper landing angle. Notably, there was a fair amount of left-to-right inconsistency with slight variances in club path and face to path. Conclusion: Titleist has delivered as promised. But, don’t let the... Read More

Titleist TSR Drivers Now Available

October 3rd, 2022

Titleist TSR Drivers were just recently released to the public after being released to tour players earlier this year. Titleist has made another jump in innovation – here are the three important things to know. First, the VFT (Variable Face Thickness) design featured in each model is designed to increase smash factor and consequently ball speed. Second, the new aerodynamic “boat tail” designs promise to increase club head speed just from the head alone. Plus, Titleist’s approach to MOI (moment of inertia) spans toe to heel and crown to sole. This approach is intended to help optimize spin and forgiveness at every hit. Learn more about MOI from Golf.com. Each of these innovations were applied to each model differently in an effort to cater to different player types.   How to Choose Titleist TSR Drivers If you’re a player looking for maximum forgiveness, think TSR2. For lower handicap players looking to increase ball speed through precision adjustments, think TSR3. For advanced players desiring a smaller, more compact head with multiple spin adjustments, think TSR4. Which driver is optimal for you? We recommend a personalized driver fitting of course. Schedule A Driver Fitting Now. Or, check out Titleist’s Driver Selector. TSR2... Read More

ZNE Wedge Shafts Review – Full Swing

September 26th, 2022

Newly released, our team just completed our ZNE Wedge Shafts review. With promises of distance control, reduced shot dispersion, and better feel – we had to see it for ourselves. Previously, the BGT Stability Putter Shafts proved to reduce torque and improve face to path alignment without giving up feel. Continuing with the challenge of traditional shaft design, we wanted to know how these shafts perform under full swing, partial swings and around the green. The BGT ZNE Wedge Shafts were released in 90 gram, 115 gram and 130 gram weights. Each shaft is virtually identical down to the “Stiffness Stack,” leaving the variance in flex to the tip section. Our staff with wedge full swing speeds from 60 mph to 80 mph put these shafts to the test in comparison to custom fitted shafts. In summary, we found that BGT is really on to something. Full Swing ZNE Wedge Shafts Review There is only one way to find out if the ZNE Wedge Shafts are right for you – come in for a custom wedge fitting. While our staff validated that BGT is delivering on their promise of distance control, shot dispersion and feel; it varies from player to... Read More

WITB: Andrea Lee Wins 2022 Portland Classic

September 22nd, 2022

The 2022 Portland Classic saw intense competition, enough leader changes to rival NASCAR, but produced a first. Andrea Lee’s first win on the LPGA Tour came with resilience, persistence and three other firsts – most birdies, most fairways and most greens-in-reg. She deserved to win and we congratulate Stanford alum Andrea on her first win. With the help of the LPGA and EPSON Tour, we overview Andrea’s clubs. Andrea Lee’s Winning Equipment at the 2022 Portland Classic Top of the Bag. Driver: Callaway Epic Speed 9-degree. 3-wood: Callaway Mavrik. 5-wood: Callaway Mavrik. Hybrid: Callaway Mavrik 23-degree. Odyssey White Hot OG Club Fitting for Women At 5′ 7″, Andrea Lee is known for her smooth swing – tempo and transition. But, she is fairly strong given the Graphite Design Tour AD IZ shaft in her Callaway Epic Speed Driver. Today’s women golfers are diverse in strength and ability and less than 10% of the female golfers we fit could use standard Ladies Golf Clubs. Ladies golf shafts are too light. WITB: Max Homa Wins the 2022 Fortinet Championship

September 19th, 2022

The 2022 Fortinet Championship goes in the books as a repeat win for Max Homa. That’s now how it looked down the stretch, nor three shots into the very last hole. But, wow what a bunker chip-in for Homa. We’ve all experienced the woes of 3-putting from inside of 4 feet; some in match or tournament play. And not enough of us have experienced the joys of a chip-in knowing how huge it is to win that way. Take a dive into the chip-in and Max Homa’s winning equipment with the help of PGA Tour and GolfWRX. Max Homa’s Winning Equipment at the 2022 Fortinet Championship Top of the Bag. Driver: Titleist TSR3 10 degrees with the Fujikura Ventus Black 6 X shaft. 3-wood: Titleist TSR3 16.5 degrees with the Fujikura Ventus TR Blue 8 X shaft. 5-wood: Titleist TSR2 21 degrees with the Graphite Design Tour AD XC 9 TX shaft. The selection of the Graphite Tour AD XC 9 TX for Homa’s 5-wood was an interesting one to us. First, the 9 TX shaft has a much softer butt section even though it’s not something you’re going to see web specs on. Second, Fujikura does such a great... Read More
