The 2022 RSM Classic marks a major turnaround for Adam Svensson. From losing his Tour card in 2019 to his battle back through the Korn Ferry Tour, Svensson proved his ability with this win. The turnaround is attributed to his rise in putting with the help of coach John Graham. If you have heard of AimPoint Green Reading and Putting, you have heard of John Graham. For this tournament, Svensson gained 4.24 strokes putting against the field. Not bad after hitting 94.44% of greens in regulation. He should have won with these numbers. On fire. The 2022 Pelican Women’s Championship was won with a hard charging final round of 64 by Nelly Korda – she was on fire. Even where Nelly got into trouble off the tee or with approach shots, she more than recovered with her impressive putting and short game. The 2022 Houston Open was owned by Tony Finau, going wire-to-wire to win by four strokes. At one point, he held an 8-stroke lead on a strong field. The 2022 Toto Japan Classic secured Gemma Dryburgh’s first win since joining the LPGA Tour in 2018. She hit fairway, after fairway, after fairway in the last two rounds setting herself up to attack greens and shoot back-to-back 65s. The 72-hole total score of 268 is also her new career best. The 2022 World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba was set with a strong field. But, Russell Henley sent his Sunday-demons packing after his 6-shot lead held for a 4-shot lead finish. Scottie Scheffler, a media favorite, finished T3 with 4 other players including Joel Dahmen, Troy Merritt, Seamus Power and Will Gordon. Hitting the fairway was key at Mayakoba. Thick rough, hazards could easily prevent attacking the pin. Henley was strong putting but his accurate driving, hitting 78.57% of fairways during the week was key. The 2022 Bermuda Championship produced another champion from Ireland. But this time it was Seamus Power. Securing his second win on the PGA Tour, Power among others had fallen behind two-stroke leader Ben Griffin, was able to power through to the finish with a 2-under 70. The Bermuda Port Royal Course, along with it’s wind, proved to be a relentless challenger to everyone. Winning, just one week after fellow Irishman Rory McIlroy won was a real treat.
