How to select the correct wedge shafts?
August 3rd, 2022Inside Tony Finau’s Improved Putting in 2022
August 1st, 2022With improved putting in 2022, Tony Finau is climbing the charts steadily in putting statistics. His putter has been on fire with back-to-back PGA Tour tournament wins. Finau spent a lot of time prior to the 2021-22 PGA Tour season working on fine-tuning his putting. But, what he has done to improve his putting isn’t illusive to everyday golfers. In fact, these 5 insider takeaways can help golfers of every ability and on any course. Combining our insights with stories from PGA Tour and Golf.com, put these tips to work for you. Putter setup. Alignment aids. Square face at impact. Proper loft and lie. Optimal path, launch and spin. Putter setup for improved putting One trouble area for Tony and many golfers is making sure putter setup is correct and repeatable. Most golfers lay the putter on the ground and twist the putter to align to the target line. This results in misalignment from head to toe (for your body and the putter). Finau added a simple mark to the back of his putter to remind him of body, hands and eye alignment. Important: he did this only after seeing and knowing his swing path and swing dynamics from a... Keys to Better Drives
June 3rd, 2022Unlocking the keys to better drives will help you hit more greens in regulation and score better! TrackMan Golf has done an extensive study that shows that golfers can reduce their handicaps by up to 4 strokes by adding more distance and accuracy to their drives! Here are our Keys to Better Drives: Play a Shorter Driver Shaft Why? You will hit more fairways! And, potentially get more distance. If you are playing a standard off-the-rack driver, chances are the shaft is too long. The standard length driver from the top 5 manufacturers is 45.5 to 45.75 inches long for men and 44.25 to 44.5 inches long for women. Longer clubs typically lead to shots off the heel robbing you of distance! We recommend no longer than 45 inches for most male golfers and 44 inches for most female golfers. See our related blog: What Driver Length Should YOU Play? Have the Right Loft Most golfers believe that they need a penetrating ball flight off the tee to get more distance. TrackMan Golf studies have shown that the combination of higher launch and lower spin can increase distance dramatically. And, as golfers start losing club speed, the higher lofts will... Read More

September 18th, 2021Get your 2022 clubfitting while your swing is still grooved! Now that the season in the northern climates of the world is getting a little cooler, take an introspective look at your game and then go get a good clubfitting. Don’t wait until 2022 as there are a lot of new head, shaft and grip options hitting the market this fall, and your swing is still in good shape from playing this season. We Fit YOUR Game The first thing you should do is take a look at where you were successful (putting, chipping, driving?) and where you struggled (hybrids, distance gaps, accuracy with irons?). Be honest and think about where you lost strokes and what happened (thin, fat, poor contact, slice, hook?). Your fitter should ask you a lot of questions about your shots and what you want to accomplish: Improved Accuracy? Increased Distance? More Consistency? Then you should concentrate on what segments of your game are costing you the most strokes and eroding your confidence. Our 2021 Player Survey indicates that the biggest “problem” clubs in our golfers bags are Long Irons (31%), Driver (25%), and 3 Fairway Wood (24%). It’s time for a fitting to get those problem...
