If you are looking for the Best Hybrids for 2021, there are several great options to choose from!

Hybrids – 2021

It is interesting in our fittings that the majority of golfers have a love/hate relationship with their hybrids.  Getting the best hybrids for your game can sometimes be a challenge.  We have written several blogs on Solving the Long iron vs. Hybrid Dilemma, and Picking the Best Hybrid Shaft for YOUR Game.

Now it is time to give you our best shot at what hybrids we see this year that are head and shoulders above the rest.

Small Hybrids

These hybrids are designed for players that like a little more forgiveness than a driving iron might give them.  Mostly used off the tee or fairway, these hybrids are usually lower launching and have shafts that match that boring ball flight.  While PXG Gen2 0317 X was close, our best picks are the  Callaway APEX Pro or Titleist TSi3.  You could also consider a Ping G425 Crossover which is like a driving iron.

Standard Hybrids

We call these “standard” hybrids because their size is typically a bit larger than the “small” hybrids mentioned above.  These hybrids are designed to get the ball in the air more easily and come in more available lofts.  Some really good designs here for getting through rough and hitting off tight lies – the Cobra RAD, and Cleveland Halo Launcher stand out here.

Our Best Standard Hybrids so far in 2021 are the Callaway APEX 21, , and Mizuno CLK (2020)..These two hybrids were crazy long and forgiving in our testing with smash factors as high as 1.48!

The Ping G425 and TaylorMade SIM2 Max are worth a strong look, however.

Hybrid/Fairway Woods

Remember the original TaylorMade RBZ hybrids?  Looked like a fairway wood and really performed well…probably their best every hybrid.  In our view, the only company that is making something a little larger these days is Callaway.    In our testing, the Callaway Big Bertha 21 is the most forgiving, launches the ball nicely and comes in lofts all the way to an 8 hybrid at 33 degrees! The New Callaway EPIC Super Hybrid is another GREAT choice!  Hot…hot…hot!
