The 2022 PGA Tour season glimmered with the idea of Tiger’s return to competition. But we’ve all learned he’s got more work to do to get physically ready for Tour play. The physical side of competing on tour too often under appreciated. We wish Tiger well in his ongoing recovery to regular competition. His leadership was felt on and off the course throughout the 2022 season. Instead, we watched new stars like Scottie Scheffler, Patrick Cantlay, and Cameron Smith emerge.
With help from PGA Tour and TaylorMade, we spotlight Tiger Wood’s 2022 Equipment. Learn about newly issued shafts for long irons. And learn about nuance changes to putter weight.
Inside Tiger Woods TaylorMade Equipment for the 2022 PGA Tour Season
- Top of the Bag. Driver: TaylorMade Stealth Plus 9 degrees with a Fujikura Ventus Black 6 X shaft. 3-wood: TaylorMade SIM Titanium 15 degrees with a Mitsubishi Diamana D+ Limited 70T X shaft. 5-wood: TaylorMade M3 19 degrees with a Mitsubishi Diamana D+ Limited 80 TX shaft.
In March, we profiled the expanded Fujikura Ventus line of Black, Blue and Red shafts. Throughout the year, these shafts have performed very well in fittings. They provide the versatility and feel to tighten shot dispersion, optimize spin and help golfers pick up distance. TaylorMade P-7TW 4-iron through PW with the True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts.
The Dynamic Gold Mid Tour Issue X100 shafts were newly introduced by True Temper this year, designed with a more active tip section to provide higher launch and spin characteristics. Previously, the Elevate shafts did just this but with a lower shaft weight. The lower shaft weight rules out the Elevate shaft for higher-swing speeds.
