WITB: Keegan Bradley, 2023 Travelers Championship

WITB: Keegan Bradley 2023 Travelers Championship | D'Lance Golf

WITB: Keegan Bradley, 2023 Travelers Championship winner, broke the tournament record finishing at -23 under par. Crazy to think that he bogeyed three of the last six holes and still won by three. Multiple players lit up TPC River Highlands including Rickie Fowler. He shot a career-low -10 under 60. On fire, Keegan shot 62, 63, 64 and 68. With a mixed bag and triple combo set of Srixon irons, Bradley bucked statisticians.

We usually see Tour winners capitalizing on strokes gained against the field. Keegan has gained just 1.037 strokes on the field during the 2022-23 season. According to DataGolf.com, during the Travelers Championship Keegan actually lost -0.55 strokes to the field. Zac Blair, who finished second gained +5.45 strokes to the field. He sure put those statisticians in their place.

Winning WITB for Keegan Bradley at the 2023 Travelers Championship

With the help of PGA Tour, GolfWRX and Golfweek, and looking closely at multiple photos from the tournament, here is Bradley’s winning setup.

  • Driver: TaylorMade Stealth 2 Plus 10.5 degree with Fujikura Ventus Black TX shaft.
  • Fairways: TaylorMade SIM2 Max 16.5 degree 3-wood with an Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI shaft.
While many have forgotten the SIM2 Max fairways, they are still available from TaylorMade. With options for 3-, 3-high launch, 5, and 7-wood, the SIM2 Max has not been obsoleted by the newer Stealth or Stealth 2. Now the Stealth 2 is among numerous fairway woods that impress.

  • Hybrids: Callaway Apex UW 19-degree with a Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 80 TX shaft.
  • Irons: Srixon ZX Mk II Utility 3-iron, ZX5 4- and 5-iron, and ZX7 6-iron through PW with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts.
In 2021, we featured the Srixon ZX series as one of the top combo iron sets for players. The new ZX Mk II Utility irons are available as 2-, 3- or 4-irons. The ZX5 irons are more forgiving than the ZX7, but are packed with the same great feel of forged. The ZX MK II ZX5 and ZX7 are one of the hottest irons today. We wouldn’t be surprised to see Keegan with these new irons at some point soon.
  • Wedges: Cleveland RTX ZipCore 52- and 58-degrees with True Temper Dynamic Gold S400 shafts.
  • Putter: Odyssey Versa Jailbird
