Cleveland RTX 6 ZipCore Wedge

Cleveland RTX 6 ZipCore Wedge | D'Lance Golf

The new Cleveland RTX 6 ZipCore Wedge unlocks maximum spin from any turf lie on the golf course and around the green. From the fairway, rough, sand, fringe and wet conditions, these wedges are packed with spin technology.

  • MAX SPIN – The ball striking area of RTX 6 ZipCore Wedges include dynamic blast media and laser patterns specific to loft groupings 46°–48°, 50°–52°, and 54°–60°. Lower lofts receive a less rough blast. Higher lofts receive a denser and rougher blast and more laser lines.
  • ZIPCORE – Cleveland’s proprietary, low-density core technology optimally positions the CG (Center of Gravity). The result is more consistent performance and forgiveness even for toe shots. Golfers love the increased spin, consistency, feel, and control of these wedges.
  • ULTIZIP – UltiZip is Cleveland’s specialized sequence of deep groove lines with sharp groove radii. Tighter grooves equals more bite on the ball – especially effective when grass, sand, dirt, or water clogs the impact zone.

Cleveland RTX 6 ZipCore Sole Grinds

Cleveland offers four versatile sole grinds in the RTX 6 ZipCore wedges. Based on tour-inspired feedback, choose the grind that best fits your playing style.

  • LOW – the LOW grind sole is C-shaped sole with relief on the heel, toe, and trailing edge. It’s perfect for players who leave smaller divots, play in firm conditions, and/or like to hit open-face and flop shots.
  • LOW+ – New for this generation of RTX 6 ZipCore, this grind is only an option on Sand Wedge lofts (54- and 56-degree). It offers 2° more bounce than the LOW grind but features the same C-shaped sole.
  • MID – A V-shaped sole that features extra trailing edge relief to help keep the leading edge low on open-face shots. This is also the ideal sole for all-around performance.
  • FULL – This grind is ideal for players seeking stability on full shots and added bounce for extra forgiveness. A traditional sole design, with the extra spin the RTX 6 ZipCore brings, this grind excels in softer conditions and around the greens.

ZipCore Wedge Options

In addition to the popular Tour Satin finish, the RTX 6 ZipCore wedges are also available in Tour Rack (Raw) and Satin Black finishes. The Tour Rack (Raw) finish is designed for players who don’t mind their wedges rusting a little, further increasing ball spin off the face. The rust also helps to defer glare. The Satin Black finish is sleek and features a long-lasting finish that reduces glare.

Cleveland RTX 6 ZipCore Wedge Review

One of the most popular wedges for players with handicaps 15 and under, the Cleveland RTX 6 ZipCore wedges deliver spin, spin, spin. It is definitively one of the highest spinning wedges producing spin rates north of 10,000 rpms. The ZipCore wedges feel great and the launch angles and spin rates are immediately apparent. With Trackman, we consistently see spin back on greens from 100-120 yards with a 54-degree wedge. The soft feel complements forged irons from any brand – inspiring confidence in approaches and around the green.

With these incredibly high spin rates, control becomes an important factor in choosing the right shaft. While we typically recommend shaft consistency from irons through wedges, lower handicap players may benefit from a slightly heavier build or stiffer tip section.
