Phil Mickelson usually plays the Scottish Open as a warm up round for The Open Championship. Except this time he won it! He missed a putt that could have clinched it on the 18th but his short game got him to within a foot on the first playoff hole and he clinched the Scottish Open on the first playoff hole. Playing the same Callaway Phrankenwood driver he put in his bag at The Masters, Phil also changed the shaft to a slightly stiffer-tipped Diamana Kai ‘li 70XX. This allowed him to still hit his draw but keep the ball a little lower to fend off the high winds. Great job, Phil! Bring Muirfield to its knees next week! Read more about Phil’s bag here….
