Miura’s Modern Blade: The Best of Both Worlds

The Modern Blade

We have long been a fan of Miura.  As far as we are concerned, Miura makes the BEST forged irons, in traditional style, in the world.  Miura just introduced a completely new iron design for the first time since 1957: the MC-501.

It’s what Miura is calling “The Modern Blade:” the perfect hybrid of blade and cavity back designs.

Aimed at pleasing the eye and performing, the MC-501 sports the desirable muscle back aesthetic yet still provides the player forgiveness for off-center strikes.

The Miura MC-501 sports a slim top line, a desirable feature of the traditional muscle back design.

Engineering the MC-501

The MC-501 features a unique set of design features that make it distinct from the traditional blade.

Sculpted channels in the muscle back re-distribute weight for higher ball flight and lower spin.

Sculpted channels in the muscle of the club are the most visually recognizable difference. These channels allowed Miura’s engineers to reposition 20 grams of weight to the sole of the club.

Added weight in the sole gives the club a lower center of gravity, promoting higher launch and lower spin.

The MC-501 also features a longer total blade length for greater face area. Greater heel to toe forgiveness is created by the longer blade.

Additionally, Miura’s signature Y-grind sole is incorporated to allow for cleaner turf interaction.

The unparalleled feel of forged soft carbon steel only adds to the grandeur of this beauty.

Players with low to mid handicaps will love the versatility of this iron. It provides a great balance of control and forgiveness.
