August 21st, 2023

If you want more putting consistency, here are 5 important reasons to get a Lifetime Putter Fitting. Coaching, practice and alignment aids can help. However, even coaches without the help of a launch monitor can only assist with 3 of 7 important parameters. And, only with a Lifetime Putter Fitting can you benefit with putter selection, putter adjustments and putter fixes for life. 1. Fix vs. Buy a putter. People often think when their putting stroke fails them, it’s time to buy a new putter. Or, the thought is to switch putter types or sizes. Well, maybe! Unless you are new to golf, the reality is there was a fair amount of thought put into selecting that putter. July 31st, 2023

WITB: Lee Hodges, 2023 3M Open Champion, pulled off a wire-to-wire, 7-stroke advantage win. His first win on the PGA Tour, but just in his second year. And he’s been close before sharing a 54-hole lead at the 2022 American Express. According to interviews, Lee set his mind to stay aggressive through the final round. While not the approach often taken with a big lead, mentally his mind was set, and it paid off. The result, Hodges is the first wire-to-wire winner in 3M Open history. While Hodges plays a full bag of Titleist, like many other tour pros he utilizes a combo set of irons. Know this, Lee Hodges is a precision player. His mix of irons is a bit unique though. For his 4-, 5- and 6-iron, Hodges plays the Titleist T100 irons. For his 7-, 8- and 9-iron, Hodges plays the Titleist forged CB. Typically, we see a combo set with a break point at the 4- or 5-iron. But every golfer should find the personalization that Hodges has found with his combo set. Why is getting the RIGHT shaft so important? Technology advancements in fairway wood heads continue to lower CG (center of gravity), increase MOI (moment of inertia) and increase forgiveness. Depending on the age of your existing fairway woods, your old shaft is likely not right for new heads. And mass-produced stock shafts are not designed to fit your swing. The proper fit shaft in your fairway woods ensures that new tech delivers on consistency, accuracy and distance. The short answer in fitting fairway wood shafts is to choose a shaft that has a little more weight than your driver. And we typically start with a slightly softer tip section to help get the ball in the air.... Read More
