D’Lance Golf The branding of D’Lance Golf was probably like most small businesses. So what do we name this company and what does it mean? To be honest, 22 years ago, we thought Golf Fit was the brand we wanted. But, then maybe people would think we were all about fitness. Nope. We are all about improving golfers performance through equipment, instruction and practice. My son, Lance and I were working on this as he was graduating from college…Project X we called it. But no interesting brand name came to mind. Finally, I was at a conference sitting next to a lady from Quebec talking about all the telecommunication companies that were launching at that time and I heard the French word, lancement…meaning launch. Well, my son’s name is Lance and we are launching a new business so voila’ – D’Lance Golf (the D is my first initial) was born. Yeah, Lance was not too excited about it either! After all, what’s a Nike?? The first few years we had a great logo, green and gold colors like a country club, and we branded everything from our hats to shirts to our golf clubs. D’Lance Golf Performance Center was chosen for the prestigious Golf Digest Top 100 Clubfitter 2019! This marks the fifth time D’Lance Golf was chosen for this honor. This award is given every two years and we started with the inaugural selection in 2011-12. We have had numerous posts in Golf Digest regarding our clubfitting process and a variety of different topics. Always fun to work with Mike Stachura, Senior Equipment Editor at Golf Digest on fitting questions. Mike had a list of about 35 questions that we responded to this fall. You should see my comments in a few articles coming up! I would also like to congratulate the following clubfitters that I worked with when we trained fitters for Golf Etc. of America. They also achieved the Top 100 Clubfitter honor. Congratulations to all of these companies that continue to do outstanding clubfitting: Golf Etc., Granbury, TX Golf Etc., Cary, NC Golf Etc., Morristown, NJ Touchet Performance Golf, Ft. After a major renovation of our indoor golf practice facility, we hosted an Open House to show off the new digs. What a great turnout from our loyal customers looking to see what new features we have to offer. We have replaced the old Achiever launch monitors with TrackMan 4 ball flight monitors and simulators. This new technology is the state-of-the-art for indoor golf practice and full course play. Learn More. Chris Melendez, our master clubfitter at the Fairways at the Stable, gave a nice presentation on how to effectively use TrackMan features for practice. Pretty cool stuff with the use of the TrackMan Test Center and TrackMan Combine to manage distance control and shot making. We will be publishing blogs during the winter to help our members continue to use the great new facilities to dramatically improve their games! And, congratulations to Carol and Steve Jost, winners of a 3 month indoor practice membership!
D’Lance Golf Performance Center jumped at the chance to pick up the TPT (Thin Ply Technology) shaft line earlier this year and it has paid huge dividends to our customers. Longer, straighter, more stable than other driver shafts we have tested. And the feel is phenomenal. Solid yet smooth. Now sure, this is a premium shaft but you can see and feel the difference in your game. See our Review of the TPT Shafts Here… Well, our dedication to fitting these TPT shafts for our customers put us in the top 5 in the USA. TPT was kind enough to host its top clubfitters at the David Leadbetter Academy in Champions Gate, Florida this past weekend. Kevin Borgmann, our production manager, attended the event as our representative. This was pretty cool as Kevin brought the perspective of the club builder, not just the clubfitter. One of the most exciting things we realized about the TPT shafts is their quality. Since we frequency match an spine-align all of our clubs, it was important for us to have shafts of the absolute best quality for our customers. Easier to fit…even better to build. See our Review of the TPT Shafts Here…
Hey, Dan. Just wanted to let you know I am hitting more fairways with the new driver shaft. First round out was 6 of 7 and yesterday was 11 of 14. And the good news is even my misses are off the fairway by just a few feet. Thanks again! Dan D., Parker, CO.
A couple of years ago I fit a lady golfer that was so frustrated she was about to give up. First let me say that she is a tall golfer, 5′ 10″ and had been struggling with off-the-shelf senior men’s clubs. Now we have learned long ago that lady golfers are much stronger than how equipment manufacturers make their equipment. That is why our fitting system, especially for lady golfers, can get dramatic results! Just see what she has to say about her custom clubs and the results of her fitting experience: My Experience With Off-the-Shelf Clubs I wanted to extend a hearty “Thank you!” for both your expertise with your club fitting, but more importantly, the amazing improvement in my golf game. Before coming to you I’d purchased a set of knock-off Callaway clubs with (supposedly) a men’s senior shaft. I figured I’d get a “real” set when I got better at the game. After 4 years of shanking right…cursing…swinging harder…shanking further right…cursing and having miserable round after miserable round I came to you for a professional fitting. Our Fitting Process Wow! Not only is your fitting exponentially different than other facilities by virtue of how thorough your intake... Read More
A Lot of Firsts With This Hole-in-One We have had a lot of our golfers make holes-in-one over the years but this one takes the cake…literally! Steve C., one of our long time customers had his second lifetime hole-in-one last weekend at the Lakewood Country Club in Lakewood, Colorado where he is a member. Lakewood CC has undergone some extensive renovations of the course and this was the first hole-in-one on the course since it re-opened. But what makes it really special is Steve made his hole-in-one on the first birthday of his first grandchild! There’s a piece of birthday cake for you Steve! The particulars: Par 3 10th hole, 176 yards, 6 iron. The iron was a Ping G30 that we re-shafted with an Aerotech SteelFiber i95 shaft and Winn grip. Way to go Steve!!
“Jeffrey finished the summer tour as Champion in points and winner of the 13-14 yr. old Championship with a personal best of 72 at Broken Tee, Littleton, Colorado. We cannot thank you and D’Lance Golf enough for your custom fittings and especially the Driver you designed and built with the custom shaft. His fairway in regulation percentage is at 98% and he knows it is due to the driver you put together.” Thanks again, Jeffrey N. II and Jeff N. While we know how important the proper equipment is to more consistency and accuracy, it is up to Jeffrey to execute his shots. With properly built clubs that match Jeffrey’s specs, he will continue to shoot more consistent and accurate shots. Way to go Jeffrey!! Dan Sueltz
