You could add 10 to 20 Yards to your Drives AND improve your accuracy. We recently conducted some shaft tests with various drivers to see how much difference the driver head made with several different shafts. The tests were conducted with five different drivers: Adams Fast 10 Adams Speedline 9032LS TaylorMade Superfast Ping G15 Callaway FT-Tour Four different driver shafts were tested with the five driver heads. The tests were done outdoors on a range at a temperature of 53 degrees and altitude of 8000 feet using Top Flite Range balls. The golfer testing the shafts was a 15 handicap player and the shafts were matched to his swing. The table below shows the results of the test:
The golfer doing the testing had a consistent negative attack angle which creates more spin than a positive attack angle so we expected a wide variation in spin rates. The dispersion numbers were a little surprising. A negative dispersion means the ball was left of target as the golfer was right handed. Positive dispersion numbers mean the ball was right of target. For this particular golfer, the Adams 9032LS gave the best overall rating of distance AND accuracy, most likely because of the swignificant reduction in spin rates.
