WITB: Matt Fitzpatrick Wins the 2022 US Open

June 22nd, 2022

The 2022 US Open sported one of the lowest scores all year. Weather and wind wasn’t the key factor in a gritty U.S. Open win for Matt Fitzpatrick – we’d argue it was confidence. With Will Zalatoris, Scottie Scheffler and others constantly applying pressure, Matt showed a lot of confidence as he battled through tough lies and bunkers to hit 17 out of 18 greens and hold off a tight field. Confidence comes from multiple factors, but critical is believing in your equipment. If you don’t have that confidence, it’s time to consider a lifetime custom club fitting and custom built golf clubs. Matt’s equipment was a mixed bag of Titleist, new and old Ping and a Bettinardi putter. Using insights from GolfWRX.com and PGATour.com, here’s what’s so unique; and not so unique about his winning equipment.
