D’Lance Golf Performance Center, Englewood and Superior, Colorado, have been selected to the Golf.com Top 50 Clubfitters in North America for 2020!  The evaluation criteria is pretty intense and involves the following categories: How many different fittings offered, i.e. full bag, driver, irons, putter, etc.  We offer 10 different fittings. Number of different manufacturers represented.  We offer 26 different head and shaft manufacturers. Indoor and outdoor fittings.  We do 95% indoor and do outdoor fittings by appointment. In-house order fulfillment.  We custom build 100% of our custom orders in-house. TrackMan or ForeSight ball flight monitor.  We have four, TrackMan 4 ball flight monitors. Proprietary fitting system.  We developed our own proprietary BGF (Better Golf…Faster) fitting system. Our fitting system is the first “expert system” that predicts club length, shaft weight, shaft flex, trajectory and spin profile, and swing weight.  These predictions are based upon our assessment of the golfers swing dynamics (tempo, transition and release), strength (club speed, ball speed), and shot dynamics (launch angle, spin rate, shot dispersion, maximum height, attack angle). Long Drive is a fantastic opportunity to show your ability to hit the golf ball a loooonnnnggg ways!  But how do you get started? Background D’Lance Golf Performance Center has directly or indirectly been involved in helping at least four golfers reach the ultimate goal – World Long Drive Championship Finals!  It started with Derek Hines in 2008 when he took 3rd at World Long Drive Championships.  Then Joey Andrews made it to the World Long Drive Championships in 2012 competing against literally 7 world champions at the Denver Mile High Showdown.  Then, indirectly, we evaluated several driver shafts and heads for Troy Mullins and made our recommendations.  Troy went out the next day at the Denver Mile High Showdown and set the women’s world record at 402 yards.  See our coverage here!  Then, in that same year, we had worked with Josh Cassaday to get him the right equipment to compete at the World Long Drive level.  Josh has made an incredible commitment to the sport and Josh Cassaday is now ranked 13th in the World!  Josh is working with some of the best trainers in the world to get him a World Long Drive Championship.  His track record... There are over a thirty courses to choose from including the major courses in St. Andrews, Royal Troon, Sea Island Plantation and Muirfield Village! The leagues will be separated into divisions depending upon number of two-person teams that sign up. Each year we are blessed with notes from our customers on their results during the year, and actually over the years.  Our fitting system really works and we are proud to help our customers achieve their golf goals!  Here are some of the results: Best Golf Season…Ever! In the spirit of reflection on the things I’m thankful for, I want to express to gratitude to you (and for you). 2019 was my best golf season….ever! In June I won the 1st flight of the 2 day stroke play at Colorado Golf Club! Winning one of our majors qualified me for our end of year Ryder cup (aka the CGC Cup)….which I went on to help win as well!! It’s nice to know I’ll have something that always be in the locker room at CGC with my name on it. The best part of this season was getting my index down to a true 4-5 index and simply enjoying this game more than ever. Winning bets at a 4:1 ratio also really helped my enjoyment. Congratulations Victor for a great tournament at TPC Colorado!  Vic shot a 2-under 69 to earn medalist honors in the 60 man field.  Had a great round with his new L.A.B. (Lie Angle Balanced) Directed Force putter!  Vic has long been a part of the D’Lance team and helps us with club testing and quality control.  He has been a consistent winner at his local course, Foothills Golf Course over the past several years but is thinking some of the young guns there have his number!  Vic is now busy trying to dial in his equipment for the Senior Am event at Old Chatham Golf Club in Durham, N.C. We have a lot of golfers, actually over 10,000, that have gone through our fitting system and have gotten great results.  Just in the last week here are some of their stories: Gavin Amella – 11 year old junior golfer. We first started working with Gavin when he was 8 years old and using US Kids clubs.  We recommend junior golfers not graduate to heavier clubs until their strength and ability warrant the move.  Well, Gavin has been progressing very quickly and is winning tournaments hand over fist.  He just competed in the Optimist International Junior Tournament at Doral and placed in the top 10 in his age group.  He also won the longest drive with a drive of 249 yards!  Gavin is off to Pinehurst next week for the US Kids National competition.   Addison Hines – 12 year old junior golfer Addison, pictured on the right in the photo, also came to us when she was eight or nine.  Her dad, Derek Hines, claimed 3rd place in the 2008 World Long Drive Championship so Addison has a good gene pool there!  Addison also competed at Doral in the Optimist International Junior Tournament and placed in the top 30... Congratulations to Mark Ceja and Michael Weaver, our Winter Golf League 2019 Champions!  It was a close race and the winners needed the last week to close it out at Muirfield Village.  Second place went to the father-son duo of Gary and PJ Howard.  I think PJ had to carry dad a couple of times!  And third place went to the Scott and Dayle Menges.  Congratulations to everyone and hopefully the practice got you ready for the golf season. We will be running a Fall League starting in October so stay tuned for timing of that.  There are a lot of new courses from TrackMan.  We may even throw in a Par 3 course as a fun challenge! D’Lance Golf The branding of D’Lance Golf was probably like most small businesses.  So what do we name this company and what does it mean?  To be honest, 22 years ago, we thought Golf Fit was the brand we wanted.  But, then maybe people would think we were all about fitness.  Nope.  We are all about improving golfers performance through equipment, instruction and practice.  My son, Lance and I were working on this as he was graduating from college…Project X we called it.  But no interesting brand name came to mind.  Finally, I was at a conference sitting next to a lady from Quebec talking about all the telecommunication companies that were launching at that time and I heard the French word, lancement…meaning launch.  Well, my son’s name is Lance and we are launching a new business so voila’ – D’Lance Golf (the D is my first initial) was born.  Yeah, Lance was not too excited about it either!  After all, what’s a Nike??  The first few years we had a great logo, green and gold colors like a country club, and we branded everything from our hats to shirts to our golf clubs.
