We did a driver fitting on a veteran lady golfer who told us that for many years she did not like using a driver. Once she decided to try a driver, she kept buying different heads with different shaft combinations and over the years accumulated drivers that she couldn’t use. After speaking with folks who had been fit by D’Lance she decided to try it out. She admitted to us that the fitting process was way more in depth than any other fitting she had experienced and after picking up her new custom fit driver, she said it only took a few rounds before she saw the difference. While she is already an exceptional golfer, this time she said the driver was more consistent through every round. She new exactly where the ball would land every time and how much yardage she would get out of her driver. She was so happy that she came back in and got fitted for her irons. It is testimonies like these that continue to prove to us and avid golfers that a Custom Club Fitting is so important for your game and not just your game, but for better enjoyment of Golf. Thanks... What's New: Inside D’Lance
Ok. I admit to only one hole-in-one in my life and it was with a great group of friends on a “road trip”. Seven iron, 182 yards with a stiff tail wind at Coyote del Malpais in Grants, New Mexico. The guy that got me started in the custom fitting and club building business, Stu Calder, had seven! On his 70th birthday, his sister got him a custom license plate that said “7 Aces”. He promptly went out that very day and got his 8th! I heard of a couple great ones this year. Victor Minovich got one on the 13th at Foothills Golf Club and went on to win the The Senior Club Championship that day! Stacy Arnold got one at Whistling Straights. Let me know if you got one this year and give me the club, hole, distance and the course you were playing. You never know. Instead of you buying a round for the clubhouse, you may get a little spiff from D’Lance Golf Performance Center! Dan Sueltz
Just checking in to say thanks again for the great work you and PJ did for me with my clubs. Got out to play 9 holes a couple times recently. Shot a 37 at Park Hill and a 42 at Common Ground. Easily the best golf I’ve ever played. My handicap is dropping and I’m having lots of fun. So much easier to stay in the flow with clubs that match my swing. Chris S., Denver, CO – 16 Hcp.
Congratulations to the Highlands Ranch, Colorado, boys high school golf team for winning the Southern Regional Championship. Pictured are Coach James Barker, Charlie Schneider, Kyle and Ryan Pearson, and Jackson Crist. The Colorado State Boys High School Championships are in two weeks! We have fit Charlie and Jackson with the right clubs for their swings and it looks like it is working out!
Looks like all the hard work (and a little help from clubs fit to her swing) paid off for Jill in winning the 2015 CWGA Senior Stroke Play Championship! Jill played great over the two day tournament at Red Rocks Country Club, shooting an 8-over 152. In fact Jill played well enough to place second in net score as well. Congratulations Jill!
Posting one of the lowest scores in U.S. Amateur Championship qualifying this year, Spencer Painton shot an 8-under 136 at the Columbine Country Club in Columbine Valley, CO. This is the latest in a string of great golf for Spencer. He will be entering his Sophomore year at Kansas University this fall. Spencer is following up on a great junior golf career where he led Regis Jesuit to 3 straight 5A Colorado high school championships and also qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championships in 2013. The U.S. Amateur Championship will be held at Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, IL on August 17-23, 2015. Best of luck to a great golfer and a fine young man!
Cole Krantz of Windsor and Caroline Jordaan of Cherry Hills Village won titles Friday in the Colorado PGA Junior Championship at Indian Tree Golf Club in Arvada, and by doing so each qualified for the national PGA Junior Championship, set for Bryan, Texas Aug. 3-6. Krantz shot a 1-over-par 71 in Friday’s final round, leaving him with a 2-under 138 total in the boys competition. That was good for a two-stroke victory over U.S. Junior Amateur qualifier Coby Welch of Highlands Ranch and Alec Poorman of Boulder. Welch closed with a 71 and Poorman with a 73. We started fitting Cole three years ago and have seen tremendous changes in his strength and ability. He is now one of the longest hitters in the Colorado Junior Golf Association and certainly deserves his recent win. Congratulations and good luck at the PGA Junior Championship!
We have had a LOT of success with the Project X Hand Crafted (HC) shafts since their introduction but the HC LZ (Loading Zone) 50 has been a clear winner in terms of feel, low spin and mid launch. “I picked up 20 yards into a stiff headwind versus my old driver you fit me for in 2011. Easily 30-40 yards down wind. Order another of those shafts and work your magic!”. Clark B., Hingham, MA. The entire LZ line is easy to fit into almost any golfers bag. Come in and see if this shaft fits YOUR game!
Hybrids can be a fickle addition to your bag. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes great! For some golfers, the look of the club makes a big difference as well as the setup (shaft, length, weight, flex). We took a couple of swings at getting some hybrids dialed in for Jay with so-so results. Shafts were great but the look and feel were not there. Well, we finally settled on the Callaway XR hybrids and voila! Just wanted to let you know, your reign as the greatest club fitter of all time continues. The Callaway XR hybrids are awesome! They are so good, that they went into the bag over the weekend. I played the senior club championship and won the whole thing (net division). Shot 83 on Saturday and 79 on Sunday (personal best at my club) and won the net. The hybrids played a huge role. Hit them a lot, both off the tee and from the fairway. Now the old TaylorMade are in no mans land. They are on the shelf, headed for the travel set, but not ready for that move yet. Thanks for working with me on this. 3rd times a charm!
Great job, Ignacio! We fit this young man last year at age 13 and now in the 14 year old age group, he took fifth place in a strong field. The tournament was held in Lufness New Golf Club in Scotland. The three-day tournament was played in typical cool, rainy, windy Scottish weather. Ignaciao is originally from Caracas, Venezuala, but now resides in Miami, Florida. Congratulations, Ignaci0. I am sure we will see you on the PGA Tour someday!
