Josh Cassaday Making Push to LDA World Championships

August 29th, 2016

Josh Cassaday is making a push for the LDA World Championships in October.  In his first year competing in the Long Drivers of America (LDA) circuit, Josh did well in the Mile High Shootout in Denver this past weekend.  The field was very tough but Josh finished in the top 12 with drives of 447 and 448 yards against several competitors already in the World Championships. We have helped by building his competition drivers.  Josh is playing a Krank Formula 6 driver at 5.5 degrees loft and a House of Forged Prototype shaft (75 grams) built to a XXX flex (11.6).  All long drive drivers must measure a maximum of 50″ standing against a wall or roughly 48.375″ as measured on a flat surface.   Josh has a clubhead speed of 144mph and ball speed 211.  His strong release requires a firmer tip section shaft and a weight and swing weight that allows him to stay in control and put the majority of his 8 shots in the grid.  He has done a TON of work in the last 10 months to get ready for the LDA Championships and will compete in the Last Chance Qualifier at the Winstar Casino in... D’Lance Golf Fitting Trailer at Eagle Ranch This Weekend…

June 17th, 2016

Our D’Lance Golf Fitting Trailer is at Eagle Ranch Golf Club this Friday and Saturday! We use the Trackman Ball Flight Monitor as well as our proprietary fitting system BGF in every one of our fittings.  The true test of any custom club fitting is to have the golfer hit the longest, straightest shots that they can.  While most club fitting systems focus on launch angle, spin rates, and carry distance, the best thing we can do to help golfers lower their scores and have more fun is to increase accuracy and consistency.  That is why our main testing on the TrackMan Ball Flight monitors is to identify the club head and shaft combination that gets the tightest shot dispersion.  We prove it to our golfers every day by helping them get Better Golf…Faster (BGF)!  Check out our fitting process here… Contact us today to take advantage of our outdoor fittings this weekend at Eagle Ranch Golf Club.  You can schedule a fitting online at https://dlanceschedule.acuityscheduling.com/  or contact the Eagle Ranch pro shop.   Eagle Ranch Golf Club 0050 Lime Park Drive Eagle, CO 81631 970-328-2882 www.eagleranchgolf.com

Three more sets of PXG irons going out the door today…

May 16th, 2016

We have three more sets of Custom Built PXG irons going out the door today!  The three set make ups include, Oban Oi graphite iron shafts, KBS C-Taper lite shafts and Aerotech Steelfiber shafts. PXG 0311 irons are the world’s sexiest, most forgiving golf clubs that launch higher, go farther, feel softer and have a sweet spot the size of Texas. The irons are made with the finest alloys and the most sophisticated manufacturing process. Oban Oi-Series Irons are developed utilizing the same high modulus materials and tournament winning designs found in OBAN’s woods. The Oi-Series offers performance values to a wide range of players. The heavier weights offer a consistent ball launch and spin rate found in shafts sought out by the better player. The light weights offer a higher trajectory which is similar to the ball flight found in lighter weight OBAN wood shafts. The KBS C Taper lite shaft incorporates proven KBS performance benefits in a lighter weight design. The firm tip and soft butt produce a mid-high trajectory and controlled spin. Featuring a constant taper design and proportionate increase in wall thickness, the C-TAPER LITE optimizes energy transfer for maximum distance. Independent testing results revealed 5+... Read More

GIMAR Forged Irons Now Available at D’Lance Golf Performance Center

April 26th, 2016

GIMAR forged irons are now available!  When I was introduced to Dr. Gianni Martinelli at the PGA Show in Orlando this January, I actually had never heard of his company.  After spending an hour and a half with Dr. Martinelli, I was convinced he had a great product.  His company, GIMAR Golf, is actually based in Switzerland and has multiple forging locations around the world.  Because of Dr. Martinelli’s extensive experience in forging everything from aircraft engine blades to watch parts, the forging process for his irons takes on a higher level of quality than we have seen.  Each iron and wedge is forged from a single piece of material.  The properties of the metal are extremely consistent resulting in greater feel and performance.  So the next step was to get some demo heads in and check them out.  We have completed our testing and these forged heads will give Miura, EPON and Royal Collection a run for their money.  There are four models designed for golfers from mid-high handicap to low single digits.  While GIMAR does not make a pure blade style, the feel and performance of the NB PRO will make low handicap players true believers in these... Single Length Iron Sets – Our Test

April 5th, 2016

Single length iron sets have come and gone in golf over the last 50 years but Bryson DeChambeau is making another statement for this unique approach.  Bryson is definitely a “student of the game” and plays extremely well with the set he has built for himself.  Now, heading into the Masters, Cobra is building him a set for competition.  As a club fitter and club builder, this is not a difficult build but it would be a lot easier if there were heads available in a constant weight.  There is a long thread on GolfWRX that you can read and see a lot of different approaches to this concept as well as a thread on Tom Wishon’s approach. As we build the clubs to a constant length, we like to keep the flex of the shaft and the swing weight constant as well.  This gives each club a consistent feel.  Club head manufacturers currently make club head weights heavier as the club length gets shorter to create a consistent swing weight.  The normal progression is 7 grams.  So, a 4 iron can weigh roughly 244 grams while a sand wedge will weigh approximately 300 grams.  There are several other challenges...
